Sienna Enters Research Collaboration With UCLA

09-Jun-2015 In an expansion of their global network of scientific and clinical research partners, Sienna Cancer Diagnostics has entered a research collaboration with the prestigious UCLA, Ronald Reagan Medical Center. UCLA, led by Jianyu Rao, Director of Cytopathology, will investigate the use of Sienna’s telomerase detection technology as an adjunct test in fluid samples collected for regular cytological examination.

The outcomes of the research will help guide the work Sienna is doing to develop an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) for the detection of telomerase in a range of cytological sample types.

Sienna’s COO, Matthew Hoskin said “Telomerase is recognised as an incredibly important biomarker, and Sienna will be the first company to provide an IVD product for the detection of telomerase to the market. External validation is key to our story and clinical research partners such as UCLA are invaluable in ensuring the product is fit-for-purpose, effective, and that it fits into existing laboratory workflow processes.”
